Edith Head was an American costume designer
Her dark blue-tinted glasses, which became a Head trademark, were originally worn because they let her understand how clothes would look in black and white. But even after the advent of color films, she adhered to the look. They kept her thoughts a secret.
Gown from The Lady in the Dark.(1944)
One of the most expensive costumes ever made.(at the time at least)
This dress formed a large part of the publicity of the film- tagline was ‘A minx in mink with a yen for men’. The gown apparently cost over $34,000. It weighed 35 pounds
P.S. Fur is not cool. Don’t wear it.
A good Edith Head quote:
“What would your character wear in the movie of your life?”
