Royal Wedding Sew Along

So there’s this FB group that McCalls is sponsoring. You buy a current pattern and make a dress for the Royal Wedding on May 19th, 2018. Here are some of my progress photos. I still need to finalize the whole ensemble. The big reveal is the week of April 30th. I think this is the best dress I have made so far.

This was the starting idea: I loved the idea of a fancy sleeve.

Here are the patterns and fabric. I used the lace shift from the pattern that would fit and then I would combine it with the poofy sleeves from the other.

Sewing the muslin was surprisingly easy going.

I am super excited about the contest and the Royal Wedding in general. I will be wearing this dress while having Afternoon Tea. There is a tea salon I do graphic design work for called Crown & Crumpet. Here are the postcards I designed:
